What is Animation Buffet?
- Well, have you ever spent countless of hours trying to find free animation rigs? Would you prefer to spend that time animating? I know I do.
There are many artists who offer their rigs for free online, or sites which list rigs that are currently available, but it's all spread out across the web and time consuming to find and to go through. You need a hub which combines all those lists. That's what I would like Animation Buffet to be.
Are all these rigs free?
- Not all. Most of them are, but when there's a price I'll mention it in the post.
What software is needed for those rigs?
- Mainly Maya for now.

Sorry, I'm an animator not a rigger. You will have to request that on a rigging forum.

You'd have to ask the owner regarding commercial work. When in doubt don't use any of these rigs commercially. Ask first, and if there's no answer, find another rig.

Can I use this rigs in an animation demo reel? And can I use the 3D meshes for rigging from scratch and use them in a demo reel too? Thanks!
That's not my call, you'd have to ask the person(s) who rigged the characters for any type of permissions.
Hi this web site is really amazing. I wanted to ask you something, if I want to participate in a contest animating one of the characters you have here, can I do it? of course I'll specify that the modelling, rigging and /or texturing is not mine. :) thanks!
That is up to the person who rigged the character you're using. So far, any non commercial work has been okay but again, that's not my call.
